Many of these songs lack syncopation in the music.
If the focus is on the song being a 4-4 beat, that’s true. But then a person can West-Cost-Swing (not east coast) to anything other than a Waltz or Samba and possibly a Hustle. IMHO – Familiar is more a Samba than Cha-Cha. I perceive much of this list to do more disservice to the general public than be informative and enlightening. Perhaps a revision is in order. This list missed classic C&W Cha-Cha; Neon Moon – Brooks & Dunn (Brand New Man) 1991.
